BCFMA Enhances Account Security with Two-Step Verification

On January 21, 2026, BCFMA will introduce Two-Step Verification for all client web accounts, adding an extra layer of protection to keep your information safe.

Cybersecurity threats are constantly evolving and safeguarding your personal and financial data is our top priority. Two-Step Verification significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access by requiring two forms of identification: your password and a verification code or authenticator approval. This means even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your account without the second step.

Why This Matters

Two-Step Verification helps:

  • Protect sensitive information from cybercriminals
  • Prevent unauthorized transactions
  • Provide peace of mind knowing your account is secure

How It Works

When signing in to your BCFMA web account after January 21 you will:

1. Enter your username and password as usual

2. Verify your identity using one of two options:

    • Email Code: A unique code will be sent to your registered email address
    • Microsoft Authenticator: Approve the sign-in through the app for added convenience and security

How to Prepare

  • Ensure your email address on file is current
  • Download the Microsoft Authenticator app if you prefer app-based verification
  • Follow on-screen prompts during your next login after January 21
