To enhance the protection of your personal information, we are introducing Two‑Step Verification for all clients using our online My Account services. This change strengthens account security by requiring not only your email and password, but also a verification code to confirm your identity when signing in.
To help you through the process, please see our step-by-step instructions.
Why We’re Making This Change
Your privacy and security are our top priorities. Two‑Step Verification adds an additional layer of protection to keep your account safe, even if someone else knows your password.
What You’ll Notice When You Sign In
For Existing Clients (First‑Time After Update)
When you next sign in with your email and password, you’ll be asked to choose how you would like to confirm your identity going forward:
- Receive a verification code by email, or
- Use the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device
Whichever option you choose becomes your default setting, but you can change it any time in Account Settings.
1. Email Code Option
If you select email verification:
- You’ll receive a code that expires after 15 minutes
- The code may take 5–10 minutes to arrive in your inbox
- You can resend the code, but only the most recent one will work
- Please check your junk mail or any other non-primary email folders if you do not see the code in your primary inbox
2. Microsoft Authenticator Option
Microsoft Authenticator is a convenient, secure alternative to email codes. Setup takes only a few minutes and requires two devices, one to view the setup screen (computer or tablet) and one to scan a QR code (mobile phone).
Option 1: Fast Setup (Recommended)
- Log in to My Account
- Select Use Microsoft Authenticator
- Scan the QR code with the Authenticator app on your phone
- Enter the code displayed in the app
Option 2: Manual Setup
If scanning a QR code isn’t possible, you may enter a “secret key” manually.
(Tip: The key must be at least 32 characters; shorter keys indicate that part of the code is cut off.)
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we launch this important security enhancement.
